The World Dancing League (WDL) is an innovative project created to showcase the top 16 couples of dancers and athletes from the WDSF (World DanceSport Federation) world ranking. Our mission is to celebrate excellence in the world of dancesport by providing an exclusive platform where the brightest talents can compete, perform and inspire a new generation of fans.

WDL Engagement Rules for the WDSF Sardinia Challenge 2024:
For this prestigious event, the top 16 couples from the WDSF World Ranking as of July 31, 2024, in both Standard and Latin American dance disciplines, have been invited to participate.
Here are the key provisions for the invited athletes:
- Participation Fee: Each couple will receive a participation fee of €500.
- Accommodation: The organization will provide 4 nights of hotel accommodation with breakfast included.
- Travel Arrangements: Travel expenses (whether by plane, train, or other means of transport) will be fully covered for the participating couples.
This ensures that the best dancers in the world can attend the event with all essential travel and accommodation needs taken care of, allowing them to focus solely on the competition.
The WDL is an invitation-based competition and only the top 16 couples in the Adult WDSF Rankings of both Standard and Latin will have the right to compete. The WDSF Sardinia Challenge 2024 competition will follow an exciting and dynamic format. Here’s how it will unfold:
Selection of Couples:
16 couples, selected based on the WDSF world rankings, will be divided into four groups: A, B, C, and D, through a random draw.
Initial Duels:
The couples in each group will compete in duels consisting of three dances, which will also be chosen by random draw at the moment.
Group Battles:
- Group A will face Group D.
- Group B will face Group C.
Semifinals:
The remaining 8 couples will compete to narrow the field to 4 couples, who will advance to the semifinals.
Final Showdown:
The 4 semifinalist couples will further compete, and only 2 couples will reach the final showdown.
Final Duel:
The two finalist couples will face off in one last duel, which will determine the winning couple of the WDSF Sardinia Challenge 2024 title.
This competitive format not only tests the technical skills of the couples but also adds an element of suspense with the dances being chosen at the moment, making the competition unpredictable and engaging.
